We are Durham lovers, Duke grads, and parents to two wild and perfect girls, Adalena Rey and Acadia Grove. We are also pet parents to a wild and terrible pup, Kinglsey, and a mischievous cat, Luna. We’ve been pastors in some incredible churches, big and small, for the past decade throughout the southeast. As we’ve fallen in love with the Bull City and made Durham home, we have sensed God calling us to start a life-giving church for the beautiful people here. Pastor Sherei Lopez Jackson
Lead Pastor Sherei is a graduate of Duke Divinity School where she received her Masters of Divinity and a certificate in Missional Innovation. She was nominated by her class as the ‘best person to pray with’. Pastor Sherei is a passionate communicator and loves empowering others to experience authentic, life-giving faith. During her ministry career in the past decade, Pastor Sherei has been a youth pastor, community pastor, conference speaker, and prayer leader. She is also an illustrator, small business entrepreneur, and is a proud Puerto Rican. In 2019 she became a first time mama to Adalena Rey, who is all delight and in late 2021 she also become a mama to Acadia Grove, the newest and cutest member of the crew. She loves playing boardgames with her husband Daniel and watches really cheesy stuff like ‘When Calls the Heart.’
Pastor Daniel Jackson
Pastor Daniel is a graduate of Duke Divinity School where he received his Masters of Divinity, Magna Cum Laude. He received the certificate of Missional Innovation and was nominated by his class as ‘most likely to start a reformation’. Pastor Daniel is passionate about getting creative to form communities of genuine connection and spiritual formation. During his ministry career, Pastor Daniel has been a youth pastor, director of modern worship, community pastor, and lead pastor of a historic congregation in downtown Durham: Trinity Church. He is a musician, boardgame designer, and quotes The Office too much. In 2019 he became a first-time dad to Adalena but was solidified as a ‘girl dad’ when Acadia was born in 2021. He loves going to the movies with his wife Sherei and taking his dog Kingsley on a daily walk around their neighborhood pond.
